Check out this review of Fongo Second Number app to learn more about how it works and what features it offers.

What does it do?

One of our users told us that he really liked being able to give out his second number so that his boss could reach him if they had an emergency after hours.

Since giving it out was easy, he didn’t have to worry about forgetting it or trying to explain where it was on his phone; he just gave them our number and then walked away.

We loved hearing how much people love our Fongo Android App, but we also realized there were some other features we hadn’t included yet.

With version 1.4, we took our top 3 feature requests and made them happen! Here’s what you can do with Fongo for Android
It even includes a handy Contacts Backup tool that you can use if you ever switch phones.

This means all of your existing contacts will automatically be added to Fongo without having to enter them again (assuming their numbers are in your SIM card).

You can view these backup files using iTunes on any computer, which makes it really simple to move your contacts from one device to another over WiFi.

The new Contacts Backup tool saves everyone time because now everyone can enjoy saving those old contacts from their old phones before they go through long and drawn-out struggles transferring them between devices (Google Voice has helped lessen these pains as well)!

Reasons for needing privacy in Canada

Everyone has things they don’t want others to know about them. Whether it be an image you are trying to protect from getting out, or simply conversations with friends that you would rather stay between just you and them.

Whatever it may be, there are ways for people in Canada to stay anonymous when having phone conversations. However these methods of privacy typically involve using more than one phone which can get expensive as well as bulky.

This is where fongo comes in handy, fongo allows users on android phones (with cell service) to have a second number that functions exactly like any other number but without needing another device or incurring extra costs associated with owning another cell phone plan.

Fongo works by forwarding calls through their servers so that no matter what network you use, Fongo will always allow you to call someone at their regular number. Fongo also provides its own dialer so that users can make calls from their computer or tablet if they choose to do so.

The best part about Fongo is how easy it is to set up. All users need to do is download fongo and then follow a few simple steps which include linking their current mobile number with fongos server via text message and entering in some basic information such as billing address etc.

It takes only minutes before you are ready to start making free calls! If privacy is something important for you then give Fongo a try today! You won’t regret it!

Ways of getting privacy on cell phones

The first thing you should do is delete any existing applications on your phone that you don’t need. Programs like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter are social media apps that can easily compromise your privacy if someone gets access to them.

Next, make sure you turn off push notifications for every single application on your phone other than those that are absolutely necessary.

Push notifications allow anyone who has access to them to see what you’re doing in real time. To prevent others from seeing what you’re up to at all times, it’s best to turn these off altogether.

If you have an iPhone or iPad, go into Settings and then select Notifications. From there, disable push notifications for each of your apps individually so that they don’t send alerts about new messages or posts unless you ask them to do so.

Android users can find similar settings by going into their Settings menu and selecting Apps & Notifications. From there, tap on an individual app until you get to its specific notification settings page where you can disable alerts from being sent out automatically without asking permission first.

Why use 2 number apps?

You may be asking yourself why you would want two phone numbers. The answer is simple: one for your personal life and one for your business or professional needs.

Let’s take a look at how having two numbers can actually improve and simplify your life! Both are completely independent, but they interact with each other:

If you want to send an SMS message from both of your phone numbers using Fongo, you can do that easily. You can also call out using both lines if you need to, which is especially useful when dealing with clients in different time zones! With Fongo, it’s all about options.

We don’t lock you into any contracts either; so if you ever decide that having 2 number apps isn’t for you, we won’t make it difficult to cancel either line.

All calls made within Canada are free and international calls start as low as $0.01 per minute! What could be better than that? Why not try it today?

How to get started

there are lots of free apps on android and other smartphone platforms that will provide you with a secondary phone number. One that I’ve been using for over 6 months now is called fongo.

The name fongo itself comes from their tagline which claims that fongo stands for freedom of gooooodddd!!! (without caps).

However, I have no idea what it means because Google Translate tells me its something along the lines of wordpad or easy pad.

My best guess would be phonetically translated as – fo-nog but I couldn’t really say why they chose that name… probably just randomly assigned as google translator forced them to speak in Latin?

Who knows! Anyways, back to how Fongo works – Its essentially a VOIP service so all calls made through Fongo are routed through their servers.

You can choose from 2 numbers – one local or one international. You pay 10 cents per minute for calls made through Fongo and you get unlimited incoming calls – meaning if someone else uses fongo to call you then it doesn’t cost anything at all!

Pretty cool right? So far I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Fongo’s customer support team who were very helpful when setting up my account and explaining how everything worked.
